Poor little boy. It wasn't his fault that he was shooting at people. It wasn't his fault that he was chosen to negotiate for his ne'er-do-well friends.
And it won't be his fault that he'll rot in jail for many years. He'd better learn English fast.

Actually, taking rifles and RPG's fishing in those waters is just prudent, especially when your fishing boat has to return to Somalia where everyone has rifles and RPG's to shoot at you to take your catch.
I think that he was negotiating as a pirate is sufficient evidence.
