You Know, If We Weren't Getting So Totally Screwed By These Clowns...

I'd be laughing my ass off

At a forum with reporters on Thursday, (Steven Chu) the head of the department that has traditionally taken the lead on global oil-market policy, was asked what message the Obama administration had for the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries at its meeting next month.

"I'm not the administration," the Cabinet secretary replied. "I will be speaking and learning more about this in order to figure out what the U.S. position should be and what the president's position is."

...The day before, reporters asked him about OPEC output levels after a speech to a group of utility regulators. He responded that the issue was "not in my domain."

Read the rest of the post at Ace's and weep in your bathtub gin tonight, friends.

Good lord.

Clearly, all those deep discussions on experience during the Presidential election were of much value.

For comedic relief, I mean.

I am not the Administration? Then who is? And how long do you think it will be before Obama tries to use this excuse?

I can sum up this administration with one picture.

Um... Um... He got this job how? Was he the only one who paid his taxes? Wow!

"Um... Um... He got this job how? Was he the only one who paid his taxes? Wow!"

With the performance of his cabinet for the past month I'd say Stevie drew the short straw.

Y'know, you'd think that with all the genuine mess-ups being committed by this administration on a daily basis, you wouldn't have to resort to cheap shots. I mean if you look at the "crap sandwich" stimulus, the utterly empty Geithner plan to save banks, the ridiculous moral hazard in the mortgage plan, the incomprehensible position on Guantanamo detainees, etc., etc....these are all a big deal and all a big mess.

Chu's answer, on the other hand, was cautious, circumspect, and reassuring. Look, The Ship of State is large. Just because you're on deck doesn't mean you know what's going on in the hull.

The Obama administration is doing badly. This is a target-rich environment for pointing out real malfeasance.

So why are you taking pot-shots?

You're better than that.

I don't think it's a potshot to expect the Secretary of Energy to at least acknowledge that policy regarding OPEC, OPEC for heaven's sake, falls into his domain. "No comment because we are waiting to reveal our position next month" would still leave me a little unhappy, but at least it would be plausible.

"Chu's answer, on the other hand, was cautious, circumspect, and reassuring. Look, The Ship of State is large. Just because you're on deck doesn't mean you know what's going on in the hull."

Just what kind of a craptacular excuse is this supposed to be?

Cautious? NO, that's called "deer-in-the-headlights".

Circumspect? NO, that's downright evasive.

Reassuring? Don't make me laugh!

This administration and all of the clowns that comprise it is beyond a mere joke and even leapfrogged past ludicrous straight to horrendous clusterf..k. Just face up to the truth and quit trying to defend the indefensible. Chu and the rest of the Obama trainwreck deserve nothing but contempt and derision. No snide remark or potshot is too cheap or too low to fit. In fact, they'd be quite appropriate.
