So, Our Senator ~ Bill Nelson ~ Talks to Chris Wallace This Morning
...and admits his phones have been deluged with calls that are running 7 to 1 AGAINST the stimulus.
7. To. 1.
So Wallace asks him "How do you justify to those constituents voting FOR the stimulus, when they so obviously are against it?"
"Well, first," he says, "You have to ask yourself 'is this an emergency?' And it is." Well, shut my ignorant mouth. I hadn't realized that.
How nice to be so much smarter than the average bear. Thanks for the "representation", bub.

I'm a little more forgiving, ths. I'm not for the stimulus, either, but I kinda like that a politician can make a decision that is obviously not poll-driven.
As for representation, my state's delegation cancels itself out on about 90% of Federal legislation. Be thankful Florida doesn't have that problem. :)

Personally I'd agree with you Rob, but when 85% of your constituency is against something... well, even those idiots might be right occassionally. I'm also willing to wager most politicians that make decisions that aren't "pollbased" are doing it for their own benefit. Curious to see what pork is in it for our lovely state.

I'm never voting for Nelson again... even if he has a total fruit loop running against him.
I refer to my spawn as spawn. Sometimes I prefix it with evil.
