Pet Peeve

Just a quick note to you Casual Friday types out there: arriving at work with the collar of your button-down shirt unbuttoned is not "casual" or "relaxed;" it is slovenly.

That is all.

Around here it's SOP.

It took us months to convince a new hire, originally from Long Island, that it looked stupid to wear his shirt buttoned all the way up.

Oh, the front buttoned all the way up is definitely a goober look; if you're not wearing a tie the top button should always be undone (some folks like to have a few more open to show off their Ronco Chest Toupees). But button-down collars should be buttoned down at all times.

This is slovenly. Why bother combing your hair or matching your socks if you're going out the door with your shirt looking like this?

Is that supposed to actually make me want to BUY the shirt? Yuuukkkk.

"show off their Ronco Chest Toupees"

I resemble that remark.

Which is why I wear a t-shirt, even under short sleeve shirts.

:p

"Re: the pic. Did he comb his hair?"

Probably with an egg beater.

That shirt looks like it was ironed with an electric wok.

It's a hemp shirt, so the unbuttoned collar makes for. . . easy smoking?

Ties? Just. Say. No.
