In Defense Of Governor Paterson

Look, I'm certainly no fan of his. It is frankly ridiculous that it took so long for him to decide upon a replacement for Clinton. But for the media to keep hammering him over how Kennedy was "treated" detracts from the real scandal here

Criticism of Gov. David Paterson's handling of the Caroline Kennedy fiasco continued unabated Tuesday.

"I'm going to address this issue for the last time," Paterson said.

Slim chance. With the New York Post comparing his ability to tell the truth to Pinocchio, Paterson was on the hot seat again Tuesday over his administration's handling of Kennedy...

..."Are you going to apologize to Caroline Kennedy?" one reporter asked.

Sweet baby jeebus, the one person who really should apologize in this whole circus is that pampered let-them-eat-cake "um, I don't know, like wow" spouting skeletor moron Caroline. Who the hell does she think she is? Acting as though she deserves the Senate seat because of her bloodlines? What has she ever done, other than spend money? She's certainly never actually, you know, worked. I mean, sure, she's probably ordered one of her servants to fix Nuncle Teddikins another double; there is that. Oh, and I forget: there's Tragedy! And Camelot! in her family. Well, tough shit; lots of families have had a lot tougher times than that collection of smug self-righteous bastards, and with a lot fewer resources to get through it all.

She should apologize to the people of New York for her insulting behavior.

The people of New Jersey, on the other hand, well we thank her for the high entertainment value she has provided.

I'd trade Corzine for Paterson at this point.

And Caroline Kennedy makes Sarah Palin look like a combination of Einstein and King Solomon.

Did Solomon ever field dress a moose?

Bravo!

The sense of entitlement of the Kennedys in this whole mess was sickening, if not unexpected. If she'd gotten the job, why not just invite Prince William to be the Royal Governor?

And now the Kennedys are gonna GANG UP ON HIM for being "mean" to da Pwincess? Screams "democracy" at every turn.

Another (possible) point for Paterson -- he may have been delaying the announcement because he wanted official confirmation of Hillary! as Secretary of State first. Given Bubba's foreign relationships, that would not be a bad move.

As for the Kennedy Clan.....time for them to get a life. Or a ticket to the moon. Either would work for me.

My first thought was "a gag rule in place before all state appointments are done."

But then, we might wind up with what we did coming out of Illinois.

(Off topic, but I really hope they hooked some dynamos up to the graves of Jimmy Stewart and Frank Capra, because there would have been enough spinning going on to generate electricity for the whole East Coast based on Blago's recent declaration. I'm just waiting for him to come out with "I'm just like Jesus, man! Just like Jesus! You're crucifying me!" shortly after which, a mysterious mid-winter lightning strike will obliterate everything buy his hair.)

Paterson said he wouldn't announce hit choice until Hillary was confirmed by the Senate. If memory serves, he said this before Caroline announced her desire for the post...

And has been pointed out by others, he stuck it to the Kennedys, the Cuomos, and the Clintons in one stroke. Not a bad day's work....

Not surprising. The front page of the NY Daily News a couple of days ago was the HORROR and SHOCK that a book written (partially) by The Sainted Joe Torre was (GASP) critical of the New York Yankees. The ingrate! We took your sorry, Hall-of-Fame ballplayer ass off the streets and into our dysfunctional madhouse and this is the thanks we get!? Yeah, it was the FRONT PAGE.

Modern society only cares about appearances and feelings. Most people have precious little else to be proud of: they have few or no concrete accomplishments, adhere to no great virtue or tradition (because those are all old and passe), have never learned discipline or a trade, and all because all their lives they've been taught to value themselves without cause, and not to value anything else. They have a nice, healthy esteem - but that's all they have. Anything that pricks that esteem and reveals the hollow core is thus the enemy to be destroyed at all costs.

Nightfly:You've got the spirit! They're all a bunch of weak incompetent traitors.
However,Caroline is a special case. She is the last surviving heir to the Kennedy dynasty. They,John
and Robert, were unique and true Americans. That's
why they were both shot in the head.Strange,Teddy
has a tumor in the head in the same place John was shot? Teddy is like the idiot son that Albert Einstein had.
