So I'm Walking Around Midtown Yesterday

Up by Columbus Circle, going to meet a client at a bar for an important off-site meeting, and this young lady walks up to us and says "Can I talk to you about Barack Obama?" I smiled and said "no thanks" and she wandered off, and I thought to myself my, what an admirable act of political courage; such boldness! Such audacity! To volunteer as an Obama shill in Manhattan.

The heart flutters, it does.

Communist he is, but was she claiming to be projecting political courage or was she simply trying to inspire people to visit the polls?

There's enough evil and communism out there, we don't need to see badness in every act.

I encountered this back in August in our trip to Oregon. We went into Bend a couple of times (a few miles south of my sister-in-law's town) and I was surprised to see so much Obama activism. I mean, I wasn't surprised that there were that many Obama supporters, Bend is a hippie town in a blue state, but there were so many people actively engaging people on the street and there were so many signs everywhere ...

Are you sure she wasn't hitting on you, Mr. Bingley? You were in New York City, after all, and it sounds an awful lot like the leftie mating call.

She wasn't 'claiming' anything, other than a smug disposition. I don't see any 'badness,' Skyler; I see someone trying to sell coal to Newcastle.

It wasn't a lefty mating call, it was evangelism. I'm surprized she didn't have a "Four Spiritual Laws of Obama" tract to give you.

With lefties, that "Four Spiritual Laws of Obama" tract would be dual purpose: politics and a turn on. Or have women stopped swooning in the presence of The One™?
