Ah, the joys of living in a Chicago suburb.....

So, back in July we moved to St. Louis, as the firm I work for has moved its headquarters here. After looking around, we decided to buy in Illinois. Higher taxes, but cheaper houses, and an easier and shorter commute. My hope is to vote against Obama in '10, but I have seen more and more evidence of how much the entire state is a suburb of Chicago (Tho' we are around 5 hours drive south. We were able to vote early, due to the fact we were registering to vote in the state for the first time(!). So a friend of ours, who just moved from Alabama, was going to vote early last weekend. So he walks up to the counter to vote on Saturday, only to be informed that he had already voted the day before (!?!) for Obama (WWhiskey Tango Foxtrot?). Odd, he says, as I was not even in the state yesterday, as I was returning from Alabama. Upon proving who he was, the earlier ballot was discarded, and he was able to vote for Sarah. Well, I suppose for that other guy, too, as he was a corpsman in the Navy. But just keep that in mind a week from today, as the games have already begun.

I guess your buddy would fall under the 'early and often' voting label?
