I wish to pay special tribute to my favorite Fightin' Seabeeā€¦

Ken Sr.

We owe all of these outstanding individuals more than we can ever repay.

Oh, a BIG huzzah to that handsome SeaBee, Gunny!

And that is ever so true.

At church on Sunday we sang a variation on the Navy hymn ("Eternal Father Strong to Save") that incorporated all branches of the service. It brought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye as I recalled my dad (Korea) and grandfather (WW II) (both in the Navy, sorry Marines).

Hasn't Bingley told you we actually proudly claim Navy members on our side, too? Yes, there were Marines Gramps (Banana Wars/WWII), Uncle John (Korea/Vietnam), Uncle Dick (Korea) and the Grinch (the baby of the bunch, b/n wars) BUT, Uncle Bobby was Navy (Korea ~ he has falling three decks on the New Jersey during a typhoon and one lengthy hospital stay to prove it), Grinch, even though a Marine pilot proudly considers himself a Naval aviator and major dad's sweet Pop was a Seabee during WWII (hitting all the island campaigns), bless his heart! So a HUGE huzzah out to the much adored Grampa Montie and your grampa!

Marines aren't such elitest snobs, you know. We're just louder.
