Maybe They Tried The Pizza

Chuckin' punches at Chuck E. Cheese's

The wobbly video shows a group of adults mulling inside Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant in Susquehanna Twp. Suddenly it pans left and captures a fight breaking out.

The 22-second clip, uploaded Sunday to YouTube, is the latest example of what police describe as a disturbing and bizarre crime trend: escalating violence among adults at a place designed for children's birthday parties.

Susquehanna Township police have been called to the restaurant on Union Deposit Road 12 times in the past year for reports of disorderly conduct, assault and theft. Those calls have resulted in 13 arrests, including six women -- five adults and a juvenile -- charged with disorderly conduct in a Saturday-night brawl.

I praised Sweet Baby Jeebus when Daughter outgrew that vile den of inequity.

From the linked article:

"Charged with disorderly conduct were: Caprise Sawyers, 21, Porsha Sawyers, 21, Kennetha Luckett, 22, Takeya Nimmons, 18 and Tamika Rivera Hill, 29. The juvenile, whose name was not released because of her age, also was charged with disorderly conduct."

I'd bet a month's wages the perps moved from the Philadelphia area to Susquehanna and brought their Philly manners with them.

Hehehe, my brain is mud at this point, Skyler. I guess I bought the wrong vowel from Vanna.

I used to love taking my kids to Chuck E Cheese.
The problem is their are too many people in this
country.It doesn't matter if you're white,black Asian,purple or chartruse.We must slow down the
population growth. It is outstripping the resources
of our society. These 21 year olds have no way to
be incoporated in civilization.Their fathers left
when they were 4, and they raised themselves with
their mom working. The US has the highest population of any indutrialized nation on earth.Plain and
Simple.Their will be billion here in 40 years..

I'm proud to say I've never been in a chuck E's. My sister in law says she worked at the first one in the country for a few years when it was new and swears she'll never go back in one.

'slinger - they moved from Philly? With names like Caprise and Kennetha I could have sworn they came here with Ford Prefect.

The violence at Chuck E. Cheese's isn't isolated to the Susquehanna Township restaurant. Last month, the Wall Street Journal published an article about a growing number of adult melees at locations in Brookfield, Wisc.; Topeka, Kan.; Toledo, Ohio; and Flint, Mich.

When will the world unite to Stop The Chuck E. Madness?

First, let me state unequivocally that, while I have NEVER been involved in a rumble in Rodentville, the imbibition of multiple pitchers of brewski are de rigueur for surviving a visit laden with micro-units and their evil, shrieking familiars. Secondly, had ANYONE, including Mother Theresa, come between me, Kcruella and the Garbage Can ball game?

We'da shivved 'em.

And THAT was only 1985.

I've been to one just outside of New Orleans a few times ... always on Saturday afternoons. If Deep Purple had been playing in the corner, you wouldn't have heard them over those rowdy kids with their totally oblivious, probably sedated parents. Parents brawling must be something new. Probably a little quieter, though.

"I could have sworn they came here with Ford Prefect."

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if they were also thrown out of the Restaurant at the End of the Universe for getting in a fight with the main course.

I must admit that I've been to a Chuck E. Cheese establishment. ONCE. And I've never been back.

I have been inside a ChuckE's once in my life. My brother's seventh birthday. I was twelve. Hell on earth.

I think that was the beginning of my fear of crowds and loud noises.

A couple years ago, one opened up here. At the time, one of the Youth Group kids asked me if we could take the group there on the outing. My response was something like, "Jesus loves you and I love you, but I don't love you enough to go to Chuck E Cheese."

Thank goodness he's a teenager now and would disdain such a thing.
