He only got the navy cross, not the medal of honor. I wonder if that's because he disobeyed his orders by living. :)

I never heard his story before, but I'm a fan now.

Skyler, you never heard of him?! He was one of the legends for that bridge mission. Look up badass, his picture will be there. Seriously, read that account and you will be shaking your head in amazement.

Seriously, I've never heard of him before. I wonder how that happened. I guess my love of history has never really extended much to the war in Viet Nam.
