Nothing To See Here, Folks

Move right along

WASHINGTON — Unqualified home buyers were not the only ones who benefitted from Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank’s efforts to deregulate Fannie Mae throughout the 1990s.

So did Frank’s partner, a Fannie Mae executive at the forefront of the agency’s push to relax lending restrictions.

Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank's relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to 1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction over Fannie.

..."C’mon, he writes housing and banking laws and his boyfriend is a top exec at a firm that stands to gain from those laws?" the aide told FOX News. "No media ever takes note? Imagine what would happen if Frank’s political affiliation was R instead of D? Imagine what the media would say if [GOP former] Chairman [Mike] Oxley’s wife or [GOP presidential nominee John] McCain’s wife was a top exec at Fannie for a decade while they wrote the nation’s housing and banking laws."

I guess this is who Frank took up with after his previous boyfriend got in trouble for running a prostitution ring out of his apartment.

His taste in men ranks up there with Anne Hathaway's.

Mr.Bingley: Thanks for remembering that.Barney Frank
was almost kicked out of office, due to a homosexual
call- service run from his residence. These are our
leaders.Reminds me of the decline of the Roman
empire.Caliguia made his horse a Senator,we aren't
too far from that absurdity.

At least the Romans had the excuse of eating and drinking out of lead containers, Greg, for their insane behavior.

Does Barney have teeth?

I believe that the US will pull through this. The
average person is more honest and decent than our
government. The nation is basically sound.Only our
leaders are idiots, not the guy who goes to work everyday.Sorry to preach, but this is a forum for ideas. You guys are the best of the best.

You're right about our citizens, greg.

nancy: yep.

That was exceptionally unfair to Hathaway. I think your Pamela would have been a much better example.

I'v had 12 15-yr-olds here at the house for Daughter's party, so I'm a little cranky, Sis.

(Sorry Anne!)

I've had 12 15-yr-olds here at the house for Daughter's party for the past FOUR HOURS, I should add.

"Caliguia made his horse a Senator,we aren't

Barney Frank is already a senator and a horse's ass. I'd say we at least equaled that absurdity.

He would be perfect as Mass.'s 3rd Senator, Guns; he'd fit right in. But he's just a Representative.
