"Have You Ever Heard Him Talk So Tough?"

The CNN anchor is asking about the President who just used phrases like:

"...dramatic and brutal escalation."

...along with...
"...and is unacceptable in the 21st Century."

Tough talk. Raising tough questions:
"The question on the table is, if the U.S. cannot do anything to protect Georgia, do they [Poland, Baltics, Caucusas, etc.] then throw their lot back in with the Russians?"

Link as soon as I have one.

"...do they [Poland, Baltics, Caucusas, etc.] then throw their lot back in with the Russians?"

They never willingly "threw their lot" in with the Russians before: they were conquered by them. The Balts and the Caucasus twice, the Poles at least FIVE times as I count it.

Well of course he has sounded tough before..

"those who did this will hear from us" 9-11

This is a President who takes security and real friends of the US seriously and is not one to back down. Hell it's the one truly shining light of his Presidency.

This all comes down to influence and money. With
the billions-yes,billions-Russia and Iran are
now reaping daily from oil revenues, and the weakened
position in world finance the USA now has,we now
only have military options.Since the USA is
already overstretched in the world, these guys know
the US only has an all or nothing position left.
This is all caused because the USA never developed
atomic energy(even though we invented it). Thanks
alot Gore,Carter, and the other traitors you got
the world in this fix.

Gore and Carter are hardly the only ones who screwed us over. the whole of congress has known damned full well this was coming since the oil shortage in the 70s, but what did they do? Nada. No wind power, no solar power, no nuclear power, no renewable energy of any sort. (And HOW long has McCain been in congress?)

Until we know how to dispose of the waste generated by nuclear energy, I would prefer we persue less dangerous forms of renewable energy. (This is the same reason I have not hopped onto the energy efficient bulb train - we can't safely dispose of the mercury.) But these jackasses never look beyond their own interests. they probably had their congressional retirement fund invested in oil or something.

i agree, but I think we do know how to store the nuclear waste: the salt domes in the dessert. But the problem is transporting it there.

Maybe we should just build a huge cluster of nuke plants in the dessert...

Every single incumbent should be tossed out.

When was the last time congress did something actually productive? Well, besides publicly approving the covert operation to assassinate Saddam. Shows exactly how effective they are right there.

I know.Thirty years Congress, and all the politicians have been talking about the energy problem, and
nothing has happened.Nada,Zilch,Zero.
In San Francisco they've been studying how
to prevent head-on crashes on the Golden Gate Bridge since 1975.All they do is hire firms to make suggestions
and charge the city a couple million, and nothing
gets done.Nada,Zilch ,Zero.
