Oh, Good GRIEF!!!

'Montauk Monster' Has Hamptons in a Tizzy

What's brownish-purple, goes to the beach and stinks of rotting flesh?

New York's celebrity-obsessed Hamptons summer season got even sillier this week when a strange-looking, very dead creature washed up on a beach in Montauk at the far eastern end of New York's Long Island.

After sleeping it off, Bingley was fine the next morning...

...and escorting a "none-the-wiser" NJ Sue to market.

That is a strange looking thing.I did read a post where someone said it was a turtle without its shell.
I think that is it.Either that, or Art Bell is right and aliens are on earth.

Totally a raccoon.

I'm still smarting from that sunburn.

Not smarter, obviously.

Nessie?

There was another pic - I think from Newsweek? - where the thing had been moved. It totally looked like a dead bull terrier from that angle. The beak think may just be the angle of the photo.

Really, creatrix? I'll have to go looking for that one, because this one IS pretty ghastly and alien-looking.

But it's great to tweak Bingley with.

Damn... I can't find it again.

Got it. Scroll down towards the bottom.

BLECH!!! But it is definitely more dog-like from that angle, I'll give you that. The whole "claw" thing has me intrigued though.

Yeah, but it has some sort of wrist-band thing on it. It has to have had contact with people somewhere along the line. Unless griffons are into friendship bracelets or something.

I thought that looked like one! Did you see where there was initially some suspicion it was an escapee/medical waste dump from a lab close by? That might lend credence to the story.
