When He Gets Home, I Hope His Momma

...kicks his ass.

I really hope he starts wearing his helmet, too.

Looks like another Marine behind him is only in a t-shirt too. I wonder if they were responding to a surprise attack, explaining why they weren't wearing armor.

But I'll tell you this. That armor is heavy. If I could do it without subverting command policy, I'd ditch it in a heart beat. You can't run with all that weight, you can only do a slow trot. That's not how you win wars, it's only good for defensive positions.

I think that you're right, Skyler, on both items.

I was fortunate, not having to wear it every day; them whats on the line every day? My hat's off to them.

I hope someone told his mom he was okay beFORE this picture made national news. A normal mom woulda keeled over dead at just the picture. {8^P

I can completely agree with the body armor, but damn guys ~ if you have a split second to grab it, a brain bucket is always best for close encounters of the ammunition kind.

Sis, it's a good bet that those Marines are being, ummmmmm, intensely debriefed, by their chain of command about battlefield dress.

I'll bet he keeps his brain bucket with him from now on even to the shower.

Since he's a Jarhead, he'll more likely insist, "SEE? I TOLD you I didn't need it!!"

Now that I think about it ths, you're right.

Posted by: Gunslinger at May 19, 2008 06:07 PM

THS, that would certainly be my response!

Posted by: Skyler at May 19, 2008 06:17 PM

There's a good reason why helmets are known as "brain buckets"!
