Real Compassionate Care

Ah, to retire in Denmark

April 16 (Bloomberg) -- When a male resident at Kildegaarden nursing home in Denmark made an indecent sexual proposal to a member of the staff, the home's director, Inger Marie Kristensen, told a nurse to telephone for a prostitute.

``There was a considerable change in his demeanor after the escort girl had paid him a visit,'' Kristensen said in an interview. ``We do this for our clients just as we offer them other services that they need as human beings.''

Kildegaarden, located 100 miles (160 kilometers) west of Copenhagen in Skanderborg, has about 100 residents, including victims of Alzheimer's disease and strokes. Nurses arranged visits by call girls three times in the past three years.

I love that quote

There was a considerable change in his demeanor after the escort girl had paid him a visit

Gee, ya think?

If this is what we have to look forward to with Nationalized Health Care...

...it might not be that bad after all?

Well, one needs to, um, maintain an open mind on these issues, Bill.

Let's see. The staff is happier. The resident is happier. The woman earned money. In most of the US they'd all be in jail for doing that. Seems so odd.

Considering the quality of care so often available under Nationalized Health Care, do you really want to contemplate the likely, er, quality of the hookers that would be available?

Hey, er, um, theoretically speaking of course, if I'm 85 and single and I've got Alzheimers am I going to care?

Or remember?

Whether it actually happened or not?

But the call girl isn't a National Health Care employee, she's an independent contractor. And I don't think there are many ugly call girls, they're not streetwalkers, after all.

Ken, if you told me it happened I'd believe you and smile.

And save the Danish taxpayers some serious geld.

I wonder if the rallying cry of the folks opposed to this is "No kroner for boner!"

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Ten points, Bings.

Under Hillarycare, the call girls would have to be government employees, hired under current human resources standards. Are you sure you might survive that, Mr. B? This might be a way for The Glacier™ to reduce unemployment and raise federal revenues.

And I trust that you can ignore the fact that you would be inviting the government into your bedroom? ;-P

"And I don't think there are many ugly call girls"

Did he really just say that? :)

Skyler-Back in the 1980s there was a dive named "Moby Dick's" in downtown Minneapolis. I think what Bill is talking about is the difference between a call girl(think Spitzer) and the gauntlet of um, how should I put this...no longer in original condition streetwalkers you'd have to run if you left Moby's after about 10:00 P.M. Completely different worlds.

Er...so I hear.
