RIP, Richard Widmark

Dead at 93.

What a career! If my memory serves me right (which it often doesn't) it was Widmark who said "you dirty rat!" not Cagney (who always denied ever saying it).

See ya' Granny!

A good actor; if he was in the movie, even as second string, I knew that it was going to be a good flick.

So that's where Obama got the granny thing from...

I never could stand him ~ probably because he WAS such a good BAD guy. They sure don't make 'em like that anymore.

Sis, Richard Widmark once portrayed a Marine. That ought to make him a Good Guy For life, no?

He was great. The Bedford Incident comes to mind (with the amazing performance of Wally Cox of all people). Still, it's the push-granny-in-the-wheelchair-down-the-stairs scene that is burned forever more in my memory.

It's seared into my memory, Jim; seared I tells ya!
