Bummer

Don't you just hate it when things don't go as planned?

AN electronic device designed to ward sharks away from surfers failed so spectacularly during a trial off South Africa that it was eaten by a great white.
I guess it's back to the old depth charges.

Reminds me of the release of rehabilitated sea otters after the Exxon Valdeese disaster. Volunteers spent months getting these cutie-patootie little guys de-greased with Dawn and set them loose, with all the bells and whistles from the press, who were snapping pics and applauding.

First little guy swam out to sea and promptly was eaten by a shark. HILARIOUS. In a dark and twisted way. I love otters, but... DANG, that's funny.
