May 30, 2007

This Date in 1431 Proves Two Things:

1. NEVER listen to the voices in your head.

2. No good deed goes unpunished.

I could say something about royalty being weak, inbred, mewling, duplicitous cowards...but I won't.

It may have been a d'Arc day for her.

But the Bishop was heard to say "I wanted a Bud Light!"

Royalty certainly are weak, inbred, mewling, duplicitous cowards. But she was still a looney toon. That anyone paid any attention to her at all, let alone follow her into battles, says more about their lack of personal character than anything else.

Lots of guys have regretted following some blonde...

Posted by: Mr. Bingley at May 30, 2007 11:05 AM

Yeah, like who do have in mind there pal?

Posted by: major dad at May 30, 2007 11:11 AM

I trust that they floured Joan up properly before applying heat.

Posted by: The_Real_JeffS at May 30, 2007 12:20 PM

As well they should have, Jeff; after all, she wanted to be a Friar, not a roaster.

Posted by: Mr. Bingley at May 30, 2007 12:56 PM

Yeah, like who do have in mind there pal?

[looks around and whistles a mindless tune]

Posted by: Mr. Bingley at May 30, 2007 12:57 PM

'Mindless' being the operative word, like 'he who flours tuna is a MINDLESS dolt'.

Posted by: tree hugging sister at May 30, 2007 02:34 PM

Tuna? What tuna? Mr. Bingley and I were discussing French Fries.

Posted by: The_Real_JeffS at May 30, 2007 03:28 PM

Hmmm...is it just me or did it seem that Major Dad was awfully quick to try on that particular shoe?

Posted by: Dave E. at May 30, 2007 04:29 PM

Any opportunity to get Bing.

Posted by: major dad at May 30, 2007 07:32 PM

What? Did you expect gratitude from the French?

Posted by: Tainted Bill at May 30, 2007 08:59 PM

Seeing the older sister / younger brother dyamic up close in our household, I have a suspicion that Bingley knows from experience the trouble following this particular blond can lead to, Major Dad. Our boy would not get half the punishments he does if Older Sister were not leading him down the garden path...

Posted by: John at May 31, 2007 07:15 AM

I learned very early on which paths not to go down, John.

Posted by: Mr. Bingley at May 31, 2007 08:18 AM

I presume she is singing "Come on Baby, light my fire?"

Alternatively

"Cardinal, I told you not to get too realistic with the fire drills!"
