::sigh:: Bring It On

...BASTARDI.
I know how to prep for one. Or two or three....

Or four.

Don't look at me. I'd welcome a massive rain and some roof ripping wind if it'd rid me of this stupid pall of smoke I'm having to endure from all the fires.

'Tis the season for hurricanes!
Tra la la la la, la la la!

They don't call it Banglacola for nothing!

Of course things are much calmer here in Jerseystan...

Didn't they say that last year too, right up until the moment that nothing happened?

So, when are y'all moving to Indiana?

Posted by: John at May 8, 2007 05:31 PM

There may have been ice in Hell this year, John, but it wouldn't change a thing. I like the option of planning for my catastrophic natural events, not to mention the bennies of living here when things aren't blowing at 140 mph. In Indiana, one can't leisurely lay in supplies for tornadoes and I've yet to see the benefits of the place in spite of that. Like the mantra my SIL chants every time she's got her butt planted on one of our gorgeous beaches, "Tell me again WHY I live in Indiana?!"

I really can't. I'm completely befuddled why.

And Robb, secondhand smoke IS dangerous.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You are Terre Haute bound, you just don't realize it yet. One more bang in Bangacola, and you'll be headin' for the flatlands. Twisters, what twisters? Who needs twisters when a squirrel in a transformer can cut power to the city for a day (true story, happened in 1988).

Like Prof. Ying used to say in his thickest Chinese accent: "I come to Terre Haute, say great! I smell beeeeg feesh market. Look all ova Terre Haute, no feesh market!"

Is that your liquid supply total or per individual? In any case your beer supply seems low, (what is behind the plastic?). And what of the emergency brandy/Irish/Bourbob/Scotch? You must prepare for shock or emergency surgery man!

Bart - you gotta cut the old folks some slack on their capacity.

Posted by: John at May 11, 2007 07:16 AM

I'm with you, Bart. I would be ashamed to publish a photo of such beveragian paucity.

The rest is in the four fridges (between the 2 households), on ice in the washing machine (an EXCELLENT beverage cooler) and in the 2 ~ 150gal. fishing coolers. I didn't think I had to explain the 'warehouse' concept, but obviously I do.

The liquor cabinets are similarly provisioned, Bart.

We don't f*ck around with stuff that matters. And NONE of it is kept anywhere near the 400+ gallons of gasoline needed for the generators, since, if they blow, we would still need to quaff our parched throats and drown our sorrow at the lack of electricity for the fridges.
