It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't

...got that schwing.

Marilyn Manson says he coped with his divorce from stripper Dita Von Teese by immersing himself in work on his forthcoming album. When asked by Revolver magazine to describe the music, the goth rocker replied,
“I’d say it’s got a cannibal, consumption, obsessive, violent-sex, romance angle — but with an upbeat swing to it.”

Do-wop da-wop-doo-wop da-doo!

I believe it was the late, great Duke Ellington who said, "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that cannibal, consumption, obsessive, violent-sex swing."

I believe 'cannibal swing' got it's start in New Orleans via riffs with a consumptive chanteuse named 'Katrina' in a back alley off Stupid Street.

How romantic.

My Dad was checking out (admiringly so) Dita Von Teese in some newspaper at Christmas (she was lolling about in some oversized martini glass or something) and he was musing about burlesque and the Good Ol' Days and such.

So I walked over to the computer in that room and pulled up a photo of that thing she was married to named Marilyn Manson and he hushed up right quick.

He is one sick ticket. But she is perhaps sicker (?) to be married to him.

Marilyn Manson and "upbeat" anything is an oxymoron.

I'm convinced it's a total put-on and he just says BS like that to see how insane he has to get before the music press stops taking him seriously. "Yeah, this next album is techno-country fusion with Asian modal overtones; Brian Setzer and Dave Brubeck are guest-musicians." Brilliant!

Well, he also immersed himself in Evan Rachel Wood, but you know. . .new album. . .new starlet. . .six of one. . .
