Ken, the Gorbmeister cut loose the Spetznaz on us in Lithiania - January 1991. And now he's climbed on the global warming bandwagon. Commie bastard.
Lush though he might have been (they call it the "Party disease" in Russian), Yeltsin was miles above Gorby.
I have a picture of a poster from February 1991 showing Gorby blowing into a straw stuck into a donkey's ass. The Donkey is labelled "TASS", and it is spewing news reports in Lithuania. That's pretty much how I see him.

Lisa?...brilliant! Yeltsin could be a buffoon at times, but I think he got much of the big picture right and more importantly, at the right times. It's a pity that what could be is now in the hands of likes of Putin.
