Baby It's Cooooold Outside

It was 9 here when I left the house, and the harbor at the ferry terminal was starting to ice up. Maybe we should transplant some of those homeless drowning polar bears down to New Jersey?

Of course, for real thrills...anyone want to hop in the car with me for a road trip to Mount Washington?

No thanks. Done the Mt. Fuji thang twice already, and it's dang near that temperature at the summit (13,776 ft), even in July. That's as close to Everest conditions as this good ol' boy is likely to get.

It was 7 F when I left the house this morning at 4:30.

You up for lunch? Not sure of my schedule yet, though.

I might be able to hop out after 1. Send me an email if you haven't already.

Lumberjack? I always suspected.

I just read an article yesterday about there being such a huge increase in ice in the arctic this year that the Icelanders are concerned that polar bears might be more likely to reach their island, where they will be promptly killed, of course.

Don't believe a word of it Mike. The caps are gonna melt, we're all gonna drown, and it will be up to Kevin Costner to comb the oceans looking for dry land.

If Kevin Costner is our last, best hope, then humanity is doomed.
