There Sure Was Some Sugary Smiting
But it wasn't quite what Sis was hoping for
Russell thoroughly outperformed Brady Quinn and sent Notre Dame to another postseason meltdown, leading No. 4 LSU to a 41-14 rout of college football's most storied program Wednesday night. The Sugar Bowl returned to New Orleans with a Cajun-style party, which left the 11th-ranked Fighting Irish with a most unwanted spot in the record book. They lost their ninth straight bowl game, more than any other school.

Oh, well...pooh.
Thank God major dad had gone to bed. I broke the news gently to him when he woke up this morning, as in "They were getting their ASSES handed to them when I went to bed. Be happy you missed it!"
I am nothing if not the solicitous spouse.

That second half was a full-on disaster. I sat there in my living room and said to myself, this is what happens when you're overrated - they should have swapped RU and ND and let the Knights get mugwumped by LSU.
Then, a half hour later, Robert Smith comes on Sports Center and says essentially the same exact thing. BUT whenever I say something like that out loud to a room of people (or on my blog) I turn out to be spectacularly wrong. Maybe God just wants me to shut up? =)

My life has become much more pleasant since I've decided to only root for Notre Dame if they're ahead. I'm just sick of it. Except for one season with Holtz, they've sucked since Dan Devine was there.
