Don't Let the Door Hit You

...in the a$$, you a$$.

Duke Professor Quits Committee Assignments Over Lacrosse Players Being Invited Back

A Duke University professor resigned from her committee assignments, saying she was upset by the administration's decision to invite two lacrosse players accused of sexual assault back to campus.

"The decision by the university to readmit the students, especially just before a critical judicial decision on the case, is a clear use of corporate power, and a breach, I think, of ethical citizenship," Karla Holloway, an English professor and former dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, wrote to Duke's black faculty caucus.

While on the subject of 'ethical citizenship'...once again...don't let the door hit you in the a$$, a$$hole.
EXCLUSIVE: DA in Duke Rape Case Asks to Be Taken off Case
District Attorney Mike Nifong has requested that he have himself removed from prosecuting the Duke Lacrosse rape investigation, ABC News has learned.

A source close to the investigation said Nifong sent a letter to North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper asking his office to assume responsibility of the case. Calls to the Attorney General's office and Mike Nifong's office were not yet returned.

Question for our Swilling lawyerites: Will this free him up for the families to start action against him?
On another front:
Nifong Subpoenas Woman Accusing Duke Lacrosse Players of Sexual Assault

The embattled district attorney prosecuting three Duke University lacrosse players in a sexual-assault case has served his key witness a subpoena forcing her to testify during a Feb. 5 hearing, FOX News has confirmed.

On Thursday, District Attorney Mike Nifong met for several hours with the woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by the three players during an off-campus party in March, WRAL reported. It was there she was served with the subpoena.

I wonder if the meeting had anything to do with the quitting.

I don't think it makes a difference. You'd have to talk to the lawyers about it. Prosecutors have a some amount of immunity from civil actions arising out of their jobs, but I tend to doubt that leaving the case would open him up to actions that couldn't have been brought while he was working it.

Ha! I guess Mikey finally got tired of digging that hole for himself.

RE Karla Holloway: Quitting her committee assignments will just mean that other professors will be elected to replace her and she'll lose influence in the university. I wonder if her department asked her to quit because she was a liability to their interests.

Duke has really messed up its reputation. The administration and faculty hung those kids out to dry in an identity-politics-inspired PC witchhunt, a lemming flock of lefty professors performing for each other to see who can be more "outraged." I hope that applications will plummet. Duke deserves to suffer financially for how it treated the accused students.

The rush to justice by numerous faculty including Ms Holloway and the Profs who left Duke in a huff is the real telling crime. They are the simple minded bigots in this case. By standing on their high horses for all to see they actually brought dishonor to themselves and the University and caused unjustified pain to the innocent Lacrosse Team. They should forever be brandished as the worst kind of educator - socially blind and steadfastly ignorant. They should not be allowed to teach our children at any type of school let alone a university.

It sounds to me like Duke University hasn't learned a blessed thing regarding this debacle. I was under the impression that you're innocent until proven guilty, of which they obviously are NOT.

And this female prof resigns her post? Apparently she believes the opposite, being guilty until proven innocent. There's a lot of assbackwardness going on lately. The San Fran thugs who beat the snot out of the male acappela group is apparently innocent...so why not these lacrosse players? Because they're rich and white?

It sounds to me like the Prof needs to take a few civics classes to brush up on her basic laws.
