Sorry NOAA!

That excuse...

"The weak El Nino is helping to explain why the hurricane season is less than we expected. El Ninos tend to suppress hurricane activity in the Atlantic," said Gerry Bell, a hurricane forecaster for NOAA.

...is taken.

('Weak', indeed. Research scientists. Pffft. Daycare for adults.)

They need kludges like El Nino to explain why their single season tropical storm forecast is whacked, and then expect us to believe that their Global Warming models have validity?

My dad was an old school meteorologist, and he always maintained that climate and weather computer models were the biggest GIGO engines around.

("KLUDGE"?! You DARE say something like "KLUDGE" on our BLOG?! Keep your literate potty mouth to yourself, big boy.)

Yes. Completely f*cks with their dope, n'est pas?

Global Warming is a fact!
The proof is more hurricanes!
The proof is fewer hurricanes!
The proof is increased funding for us!

The proof is SHRINKING POLAR BEAR BALLS!!!
Global warming is SHRINKING POLAR BEAR BALLS and that's the PROOF!!
Whether the WEATHER is warm or not, BINGLEY HAS NO BALLS and that's the TROOF!!!

Therefore I am a polar bear?

Did I follow the logical proof correctly?

This whole thread could have been averted if only John had spelled "kluge" correctly...

I did spell it correctly, you left coast heathen.

Posted by: John at September 13, 2006 11:23 PM

Indeed, John. Mr. Summers' left coast interpretative spelling appears as the alternative choice. How...peculiar.

But you are still NEVER to use that word here again.

What? They couldn't predict El Nino? Apparently not because this years hurricane season was to be the MOST ACTIVE EVER! So, if they can't predict El Nino, I agree with John's comment, what makes them think they can project 25 or 50 years into the future?

THS - What is your objection to that time honored scientific model-fixing technique? Or its name?
