Tropical Depression Five

...has formed...

REPORTS FROM AN AIR FORCE RECONNAISSANCE PLANE INDICATE THAT THE
TROPICAL WAVE MOVING WESTWARD THROUGH THE WINDWARD ISLANDS HAS
DEVELOPED A CLOSED WIND CIRCULATION...AND ADVISORIES ON EITHER A
TROPICAL DEPRESSION OR TROPICAL STORM WILL BE INITIATED AT 5 PM
AST. MAXIMUM WINDS AT THIS TIME APPEAR TO BE JUST BELOW TROPICAL
STORM STRENGTH...BUT IT IS POSSIBLE THAT STRONGER WINDS MAY BE
OBSERVED PRIOR TO ADVISORY TIME.

...and DARN if it isn't in just the rattiest spot to do so. Dr. Jeff at Weather Underground is all over it. If it has fired up even more, it will be 'Ernesto'. Tell me ~ is that as WHACK a name as 'Ivan'? We seem to attrack the oddly named ones.

Heh. Hurricane Cuthbert and Hurricane La'Quonda were unavailable for comment.

If I pass by a Dunkin's Doughnuts over the next couple of weeks, should I FedEx you a dozen or so?

For emergency rations, I mean. "Be Prepared!", Troop 26, Ferndale, Washington.

Is it time to stock up on beans and weenies?

Posted by: Kcruella at August 24, 2006 09:11 PM

Well, yet again I don't know if it went through but I pinged your cute little boo-tay.

Hopefully it will fizzle out. I would love for all the hurricane predictor dorks to look like fools this year.

I'll get you that address for the overnight, Jeff! If I can pop them in the freezer now...

Not being one to wait and petrol making it down to a whopping $2.65/gal, I will be filling our jugs today. Then they go back into storage at the Squid Terrorist's fuel depot.

Where are your priorities? Beer and doughnuts first, next cheap gin, and then beans & weenies.

I'll keep an eye out for a Dunkins, THS. We lack one here in Walla Walla, but I'm sure there are a couple somewhere in the inland Pacific Northwest.

Cheap Gin?!! No way T_R_J, Beefeater. For hurricanes cheap beer is the way to go and lots of Vienna Sausage. THS hates them.

Vienna Sausage? You eat Spam in a tube?

Definitely a Hoosier thing. You're from south of I-70, right? ;-)

Posted by: John at August 25, 2006 12:19 PM

OK, major dad, no cheap gin. Definitely Vienna sausage, though, and by the case at that. :-D

Posted by: The_Real_JeffS at August 25, 2006 01:07 PM

But I'll bow to you on Beefeater, major dad, since I lean more towards bourbon myself.

Posted by: The_Real_JeffS at August 25, 2006 01:08 PM

Definitely Vienna sausage

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: tree hugging sister at August 25, 2006 01:33 PM

Nope, Northwest corner of Marion county. Spam mmmmm one of my favorites especially fried. Bourbon is my choice on the cold days, Knob Creek or the big bird.

Vienna sausages rock, esp. the ones that are in BBQ sauce. And sis, Doodles enjoyed each Dunkin last week. We may have to see about an overnight-delivered-Dunkin-carepackage for you guys.....

Posted by: Crusader at August 25, 2006 03:47 PM

major dad, you're getting me hungry......fried spam, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Posted by: The_Real_JeffS at August 25, 2006 06:55 PM

Major Dad - I knew you were from the North by the way you described passing through Terrible Hole, but I couldn't resist a little intramural Hoosier-bashing. No non-Hoosier who passed through Rosem'-Hosem's gates can.

But fried Spam? Seriously? I'm a Southerner and I can't stand that stuff. They would have kicked me out of the club if I didn't like grits and okra (not necessarily together, mind you).

Fried spam(in a little butter) some jack cheese (melted)on a french roll, yum yum. Love grits, especially fried or with shrimp. BTW I spent a lot of my youth visiting Grandma down in Farmersburg
