al-Reuters Starts Already

"Father of beheaded man blames Bush, not Zarqawi"

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Michael Berg, whose son Nick was beheaded in Iraq in 2004, said on Thursday he felt no sense of relief at the killing of the al Qaeda leader in Iraq and blamed President Bush for his son's death.

Asked what would give him satisfaction, Berg, an anti-war activist and candidate for U.S. Congress, said, "The end of the war and getting rid of George Bush."

ths UPDATE: On the lighter side:

Zarqawi victim's brother: 'May he rot in hell'
The brother of Ken Bigley, a British engineer beheaded by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group, said Thursday that he expected the extremist will rot in hell.

"The man was an animal and he deserved what he got. And may he rot in hell," Paul Bigley told Channel Four television on Thursday.

I heartily second that, Mr. Bigley!

ths again: Tony Snow just now:

"The practice of killing Iraqi civilians is ~ surprise, surprise ~ not all that popular with Iraqi civilians!"

Amazingly, the Kossacks seem to be happier about Zarqawi's newfound dustitude than Old Man Berg.

Look, Berg was a wannabe that wound up over there on his own initiative, and refused to leave despite lots of military and State types telling him he was out of his league. Taking the insurgency as a given fact of life over there, neither Bush nor Zarqawi is responsible for his death - Berg himself was. I hate to be an Ann Coulter here, but stupidity like that is hereditary, so I'm not surprised at the Old Man.

Hmm, next time we have lunch, John, borrow one of Ann's little black dresses and we'll talk.

On a lighter note, nothing like watching a press briefing with Tony Snow on a day like this.

Interesting, this juxtaposition of women's wear and Tony Snow. Apparently, Kos knows something the rest of us don't.

Wouldn't fit: I have bigger boobs than Ann.

That was my recollection, John. :D

I just heard him on MSNBC "And now his family has to suffer the way we did when Nick died..."

Posted by: tree hugging sister at June 8, 2006 12:29 PM

Says you...she still works there smarty pants. If only her chest matched those lips. Berg's Dad needs to STFU. That rat bastard died a too easy death, should have been shot full of holes and bled out in PAIN surrounded by Special Forces telling him it was virgin time. NOT!
