Speaking Out

...all over the Sunshine state.

On Thursday, Dale Meares, 63, a Canada native who became a U.S. citizen, told Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Brooksville, that illegal immigrants "make her blood boil."

"It is so wrong," said Meares of Clermont, her voice quavering. "Thousands say they have rights. They don't have any rights unless they earn them. Legal citizens are being spit in the face - it's like an insult."

I wouldn't say it's the first thing on my mind, but I would say firmly that I do not know what to do with illegal immigrants.

I've noticed that a lot of legal immigrants in my neck of the woods are rather annoyed at the illegals. A lot of them are non-Mexican hispanic. If they jumped through all the hoops to become legal, then they figured everyone else can too.

Same here, CM. Don't even bring the subject up with my sainted M-I-L, who came here from Panama and became a citizen. She gets mad just at the latin masses at St. Monica's ~ "If I learned to speak English, what's wrong with them? And why treat them special?"
