It Was Twenty Years Ago Today...

I remember taking a Commodity Options Trading course in 1989 or so. The guy teaching it told the story of how he was long some Wheat and Corn Calls one time that were close to, but not in, the money, so he let them expire without exercising them...the day before Chernobyl. He left $5 million or so on the table with that.

The place is just one big fricking museum to and mausoleum for, the time the Russians call "The Period of Stagnation", that stagnation infiltrating, unfortunately, such things as consciousness of safe operating procedures in a damn nuclear plant.

Note to self: construct a containment building made out of a lot of steel and concrete around my reactor before melting it down.
