What They Tell This Guy...

...and what they don't is pretty amazing sometimes.

President Bush was unaware of the pending sale of shipping operations at six major U.S. seaports to a state-owned business in the United Arab Emirates until the deal already had been approved by his administration, the White House said Wednesday.

Someone in that labyrinth has a tin ear for public sentiment.

WTF?

You would think that something like this might work its way up the food chain to somebody at the WH.

I really, really don't understand the big deal. Many of the U.S. port operations are owned by foreign countries.

The port employees are still goign to be the port employees. The only thing that'll change will be the name on the checks.

Cullen, I put this down to foolish Congresscritters looking for an issue to redirect everyone's attention from the recent fiascos (FISA, MSM coverage of Cheney 's accidental shooting, etc), and the stupidity seething through Washington, DC.

And they are failing miserably.

I second that. I'd worry about what pulls into the port and not who runs it. The real security challenge is not stopping what has arrived (too late then) but stopping it before it leaves it's point of origin. A nuke in the port is just as bad as one in the city. The bloviating from the Hillary and Schumer et al makes me sick.
