Odd, Isn't It?

Berdahl said Tuesday that carbon monoxide-treated meat could be left on the kitchen counter for five days and would still look bright red and fresh. Carbon monoxide "also suppresses bad odors and the presence of slime, other telltale signs that meat is spoiled," Kalsec's petition said.
Miracle Whip does that too and I'm sure it's cheaper.

I thought Miracle Whip added slime?

A pox on Miracle Whip.

Sounds like a product made for college students.

While the CO and/or Miracle Whip treatments may be effective, I'll continue pushing for gamma irradiation of any beef I intend to leave on a countertop for 5 days. If it was good enough for Bruce Banner, its good enough for me. And did the experiment with the 5 days of beef on the counter include flies, with their loverly offspring, maggots?
