A Scene From "Sin City"

...come to life.

The police version of the 2006 Dodge Charger is seen in this photo provided by DaimlerChrysler Corp. The New York Police Department said Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 that it plans to purchase 15 Chargers for a pilot program. Some of the new cars will be unmarked and others will be painted with NYPD colors and logo. (AP Photo/DaimlerChrysler)

Or was it "The Fifth Element", "Bladerunner" or "The Island"?
WHATever. They look B-A-D, bad.

That is extremely cool. Must alert the husband. He likes cars. Cool cars.

NYC would probably be better served with smaller and more maneuverable cars. How many times do you have to bust someone doing 80 in Manhattan? Now an outfit like the NJ State Troopers would love this.

On I-95, I've seen all sorts of imaginative approaches to curbing the speeding and tailgating. Some states have been using non-sedans to pull over offenders, so they don't see the telltale headlight pattern before they get caught - seriously, Mustangs and Toyotas with flashers going, harvesting the ignorant.

A lot of the idiots on I-95 deserve the tailgaiting - doing exactly 65 (or more likely 63 or 64) in the fast lane, but not having the brains to press on the gas feed going up a hill - therefore slowing down to 58 on the incline. I really try to maintain my distance, but...

I say do away with an upper limit on I-95 and ticket anyone going slower than 60. Actually, take the license of anyone going slower than 60 right there on the spot. Along with the licenses of anyone who fails to move over into the open left lane when passing an entrance ramp where other cars are trying to get on the highway.

Can you tell I drive on I-95 a lot?

I hear you, John. But sometimes the people tailgate you when you're doing 75 - because they can't wait the necessary ten seconds for you to pass that 18-wheeler and move back over.

...anyone who fails to move over into the open left lane when passing an entrance ramp where other cars are trying to get on the highway.

Actually, I did this in Virginia on my way to Florida once - and one of the merging cars was a cop who promptly ticketed me for speeding. "And it should be reckless driving," he intoned pompously. Eh. Driving While Jersey, that one was. =P
