But It's the Real Thing!

The University of Michigan suspended sales of Coca-Cola products on its three campuses over allegations that the company permits human rights and environmental abuses abroad.

The suspension, which begins Jan. 1, will affect vending machines, residence halls, cafeterias and campus restaurants. Coke's contracts with the university are worth about $1.4 million.

Whatever happened to "Grow apple trees and honey bees and snow white turtle doves."

So this is happening because of allegations? Well, allegedly, Instapundit puts puppies into blenders, so all his traffic and ad revenue should come here. And, allegedly, Tim Blair eats some devil's concoction called "vegemite", which...oh wait, that's true.

Is this some noble stand for domestic abuse?

My new brother in-law and his family live near Ann Arbor. My new mother and father in-law are there for Christmas visiting their grandchildren, otherwise they would not willingly go there. My new father in-law starts getting revved-up and incensed about two weeks before he goes there. He gets his "game face" on to deal with the libs.

Apparently, among other things, Christmas was cancelled in Ann Arbor long ago to make way for more palatable, secular holiday fare. Which is probably why my new father in-law parades around town in a Santa hat telling every last person he sees to have a Merry Christmas.

They get back Sunday.
