Alors Si Je Comprends Bien...

Ten days of your country under attack and you don't pipe up until the afternoon of the eleventh? Hell of a way to run a country, Monsewer President. Ce qui m'agace c'est que; for someone who's so quick to point out...

...how wrong everyone else is, maybe it's time you kept your mouth shut and took a look at the old homestead. Quit playing pique-a-boo with your citizens, and BE the leader you tell everyone else how to be.
UPDATE: Let's play "What's Wrong With This Headline?"

10 Officers Shot as Riots Worsen in French Cities

I'll go first. I think it should read "Officers Shot 10 Rioters".

UPDATE the UPDATE: Three Hundred towns ??!!

PARIS - Rioting by French youths spread to 300 towns overnight and a man hurt in the violence died of his wounds, the first fatality in 11 days of unrest that has shocked the country, police said Monday.

As urban unrest spread to neighboring Belgium and possibly Germany, the French government faced growing criticism for its inability to stop the violence, despite massive police deployment and continued calls for calm.

I love the 'continued calls for calm' bit. That might have worked before day three, but I'd be packing my bags about now. Looks like a worn, old joke of the Grinch's that holds sadly true to this day.
How many French troops does it take to defend Paris?

Don't know. No one's ever tried it.

"Calm", my derrière.

He waits 11 days and all he can say is restoring public order was an "absolute priority" ?

Quite the inspirational leader.

He's probably just now sobering up.

Maybe Chirac will get Hans Brix to write a letter to the rioters telling them how angry the french elite are.

That'll teach 'em!

You guys just don't get nuance.

I wonder how bad it will get before they do anything. Maybe when Le Louvre gets torched?

I hate to say it, but I think not even then. It's a hand wringing, self deluding thing going there. No President for 10 days? And they had the nerve to talk about W and Katrina?

One of them (don't know which, think it was Chirac, they all look alike to me) was looked like he was literally wringing his hands. Either that or he was washing his hands without water. Which would explain the hygeine issues they have.

Never stand in line behind French tourists in the summer.

Even after all the French have said about the U.S. and never backing us on anything, these riots are a terrible shame. Not only that, the French economy is probably the worst in the Western World.

BTW: Yes I do think French women should shave their armpits.
