Not Much has Changed, These 90 Years

I have only two men out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold.

One of the few officers of any service who had commanded a platoon, a company, a battalion, a regiment and a division under fire, he won nearly 30 decorations.

My God, he was gassed at Belleau and landed with the troops at Guadalcanal.

My God.

Seconded, Mr. B. Not only that, but lived to nearly 77. Thank God for such soldiers.
