My god, no airline ever had a better advertisement than watching the pilot just land that thing perfectly at LAX.
The pilot floated it down the runway and killed speed perfectly.

Actually, a great advertisement. There's no way I expected that nose gear to hold up. I have to admit I'm impressed.

Most beautemous and exquisitely done! And no, it's not a great advertisement for Airbus ~ wouldn't fly on one ~ but it is an outSTANDING advertisement for JetBlue and the professionalism of their crews.
But, from picky aviation types, we were wondering what kind of morons would STAND around underneath the nose, with a completely FUBARed nose gear, before a jack got tucked underneath. To hold the sucker up in case it gave way. Lost a LCPL years ago when an A-4's nose gear folded on the poor kid. This would weigh quite a bit more and make a bigger schmush with all those pudgy firemen standing around pointing.

I was wondering about that myself, THS. I mean, all the emergency vehicles are around the plane, passengers and crew coming off, paramedics or whoever going on and while I'm watching I'm thinking, "er...the tires are gone, the wheels are gone, and that pulverized stump isn't going to hold the nose up forever."

The annoying thing was you could actually hearhow upset the media were that there wasn't a fireball and mangled corpses and poor crew training to blame.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the landing and the fact the nose strut held even after the tire/rim were vapor.
