Glad We're All On the Same Page

Mayor, Governor at Odds Over Evacuation

NEW ORLEANS —Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco (search) seemed at odds with New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin (search ) Wednesday, hours after the mayor ordered the mandatory evacuation of the crippled Crescent City by force if necessary...

...But in a Wednesday interview with FOX News, Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco (search) said she had not signed off on the decision.

"The mayor certainly has ordered that but the governor, and that would be me, would have to enforce it or implement it. We are trying to determine whether there is an absolute justification for that," she told FOX News.

Damn. Their dithering has been killing people, not just plain stupid. But why anyone would expect them to start talking to each other by now is beyond me.

Dang, that's decisive leadership.

Maybe Blanco should be the next Secretary-General of the UN.

Hey, the post is a worthless one! Why not? She's made for the job.

I had been avoiding talking about the Louisiana corruption, but now that some media have finally begun to make an issue of it, I'm left wondering who she's really answering to.

I should say, I had been avoiding talking about the historical corruption in Louisiana politics.

The mind reels. Thousands dead, massive desruction, flood waters contaminated with sewage and chemicals, potential for thousands more deaths from disease, and "she had not signed off on the decision."

This ship of state not only has no training wheels, it has no front tire and the driver is retarded.

Since someone else brought up the true filth of Louisiana politics first, I'll add that Kathleen Blanco is probably only in office due to 1) race-baiting against her opponent, now-Congressman Bobby Jindal (since he's Indian, she could get BOTH racist white people AND racist black people to vote against one of them weird foreigners...even though he was born in Baton Rouge) and 2) sketchy mysterious things happening with ballot boxes in parishes run by friends down in Cajun country.

I've never seen anyone so clueless, short of Jimmy Carter. I'm also trying to find a transcript of a scathing piece Major Garett did on Special Report last night. It was hot.
