Never saw a single episode.

First, you have to be willing to fork out the cash for HBO. Secondly, it's amazing what having no minor children in the household will do for you.

We watched Season 2 and 3, but gave up on Season 4 because, well, it sucked. Also, we have to be careful what we watch at 8:00 on Sunday nights, since Oldest Boy is still up then, and we just never got around to watching it again.

(I kept up with it in recaps on Television Without Pity, though, so I know what's happened.)

Exactly, Lisa. It sucked and we never watched again until we heard Nate died. It was like 'what happened??!!'. So we watched the reun of that episode, heard there were only 2 episodes left for good and stuck around. Now, those episodes were almost as miserable as the preceding couple years', but when you know the end's in sight, you're a good deal more tolerant. But wow, the wrap-up (even with a quick case of Claire's obligatory Bush bashing) was great. Only word for it. Stick him in his room with an X-Box and watch the rerun.

(He's still up, huh? Guess that makes 'Deadwood' right out, then. {8^P)

Which is why I felt the need to mention it. If it wasn't for the few things we watch, we wouldn't have it either, because HBO everyday movie stuff is sorry. Really sorry. And Cullen, it wasn't for everyone, that's for sure! After a certain precipitous slide in the writing, it wasn't for us (or Lisa) either.

Twisted is great, as long as it's well done. I'd say 'like Bingley', but the jury's still out.

I never wanted to shell out the bucks for HBO even when I had satellite. But I haven't even had sat or cable in a couple of years. It's been kind of liberating to tell you the truth. If there's something I really want to watch, 9 times out of 10, it's downloadable.

That said, there was a show based on HP Lovecraft's writings that I belive HBO carried. I wish I could have caught a couple of more episodes of that.

I'm seriously considering cutting back the cable service to the minimum. We watch no TV; the cable service exists solely for the cable modem.

Ya know Cullen, it's just one of those things that's incidious because it's easier to pay for it every month than cancel and restart when something comes along. We'd had it for years and realized damn! Never watched the thing, especially since you want movies on a Saturday night and their's suck. We did well with basic cable for a gazillion years. Then Major Dad got us hooked back up for the Sopranos (which was also worth watching the first couple years and went to ka-poodles), Six Feet Under came along and now (after the initial shock wore off, lol!) I'm a Deadwood freak. (Withdrawals when it's off air.) But in between very few examples, we hardly ever watch it. The best cable package we have is the Starz and E-channels. The old '798 channels and nothing to watch' is true. How sad is that?

We pay for HBO only for The Sopranos.

I've lived without cable because I had to, and it bugged me. When it was a conscious choice, it hasn't been a problem.

When I got out of the Army, I went back to school and was working at a video store. I brought home movies ALL THE TIME. I didn't even want cable. Now I'm so used to it, I could care less. I find I enjoy watching the couple of shows on PBS (Antique Road Show, BBQ University, occasionally This Old House, and one I just discovered -- History Detectives).

I would much rather watch a movie.

We can't get rid of cable, dear Bingley. That would mean no more VH-1 "Behind the Music" reruns or top twenty whatevers on Country Music Television. Or think of all the Bond marathons on AMC. Not to mention your child's fondness for Nickolodeon.

Darling Sister Sue, I saw TV Land is doing '72 Hours of Michael Landon'. (For Labor Day, I'm guessing.) It would be a shame to let Bingley make you miss that.

I've been dodging this entry for a couple of days because I hadn't seen the finale yet. You're right. They finished it off nicely. That said, it needed to be finished off. The last three years were not nearly as good as the first two and I don't know why I stayed with it.

Rob, you actually watched the last two/three years??!! Whew!!
