I dunno, THS. That's a fine image there, and we all know you have the helm. And a fine hand at the helm it will be!

But you might remember what happened to Mata Hari in the end......

Had to go look for the right image for you. She is a fictional character, but she is a lean and mean!

Besides, the image has all those neat 'sploding space ships and all. Cool, huh?

Sis, have you been feeding info to the krauts again?

Posted by: Ken Summers at August 25, 2005 12:44 PM

Ken,
As long as the krauts keep providing us beer, we'll keep giving them CNN.

JeffS, wowsahs!!! I love her! Very competent looking, eyepatch and all. Reminds me of my favorite line in a horrible movie (Sky Captain blahblahblah):

"Leave that to me."

And I am a tragic figure, in keeping with the whole 'Woman of Mystery' theme. Makes men want to save me and I make them my slaves...
BHUUWAhahahahaha! BHUUWAhahahahaha!

Mr. Summers, how wude.
I never kiss and tell.

THS, you've never heard of Honor Harrington before? I'm actually surprised. I love those books, though I'm glad Angelina Jolie playing someone so similar on the surface probably rules her out for a movie or TV series: Honor isn't a campy caricature.

Great, THS! Glad you like it.

And I did find a suitable image of Mr. Bingley as well.

Posted by: The Real JeffS at August 26, 2005 04:47 AM

Bwahahaha! That's how big he thinks his brain is anyway!

Posted by: tree hugging sister at August 26, 2005 08:44 AM

Now Jeff, you should know very well, despite Sis's protestations to the contrary, that Bingley is actually a rather handsome fellow, albeit rather foppish and a bit sissified. But he certainly has a way with the ladies.

Posted by: Ken Summers at August 26, 2005 09:52 AM

I'll admit he has good teeth.

Posted by: tree hugging sister at August 26, 2005 09:57 AM

Yes, Ken, but I selected a science fiction theme for THS, and I could hardly do less for Mr. Bingley, now, could I? Hmmmmm? Could I????

Dave J -- I've read the entire series while over here (God bless Amazon.com). Good stuff. I enjoy science fiction, but military science fiction is way cool!

But if you read that Wikipedia entry on Honor Harrington that I linked to THS (down under "Honor Harrington in other media"), you'll see this quote:

"It has been noted that the character played by Angelina Jolie in the 2004 film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
bears a striking resemblance to Honor Harrington as she is often depicted on the covers of the Baen paperbacks, right down to her military garb and the eyepatch which she wears in later books.

I'm with you on Honor not being campy; Angelina Jolie would suck playing that role.
