Not Only Does the Man Know Baseball...

...he sets a pretty scene as well!

...Many warmhearted and mildly attentive Americans say the president should have invited Sheehan to his kitchen table in Crawford for a cup of coffee and a serving of that low-calorie staple of democratic sentimentality -- "dialogue." Well...

-- it is difficult to imagine how the dialogue would get going.

He: "Cream and sugar?"

She: "Yes, please, filth-spewer."

It's a dee-LISH-ous read.

Knows baseball? Knows baseball? Knows baseball?

The man is a flippin' freak when it comes to baseball.

Not that there's anything wrong with that; so am I.

'Cept for the part about knowing stuff about it, of course. I'm a pure tyro when it comes to actual knowledge, but I tip my hat to those whose knowledge exceeds and whose love for the game matches mine (Will is one, two other names that come immediately to mind are Stephen Jay Gould and Isaac Asimov).

Oh dear, I seem to have gotten off topic...
