:-P

Good going guys/gals - a laugh everytime I read bushy mcchimphitler.

Wow. You beat LGF and Michael Totten. Mega congrats.

But how are you doing on lesbian gorillas and chewing on human flesh?

Posted by: Ken Summers at July 8, 2005 10:06 AM

Wow, I stand in awe of Mr. Summers......

No seriously, I am jealous as hell.

Note to self: begin working on a post that will bury the competition...

Lesbian gorillas and human flesh have always been yours and Emily's, Ken.

The Dutch angle is tempting, however...

Bingley, you know you cannot possibly compete with a WunderKraut on anything involving Germanic peoples. However, you might try to compete with somebody called, say, "WunderMick".

Posted by: Ken Summers at July 8, 2005 10:41 AM

Hey, I've got a lot of german in me...I just can't find it sometiimes.

Posted by: Mr. Bingley at July 8, 2005 11:16 AM

Hey, I know a little German.

Posted by: Crusader at July 8, 2005 11:24 AM

WunderMick! I love it!

To bad I have not an ounce of German blood in me. Pure English as far as I can tell. No I take that back, my mothers side of the family probably came from Poland...sort of helps.

Actually, the name thing is explained here.

Heh. My online game playing has increased, courtesy of the PS2 and Xbox.

Go Coalition! You should run off t-shirts.

Great story, WunderKraut.

I have a slightly amusing story about the word "wunder".

I was on a business trip to Germany several years ago. My boss at the time spoke German, and all of the Germans we worked with spoke English very well.

Despite the apparent lack of a language barrier, though, one evening my boss and I were out on the town with some of the German folks, trying without success to explain to them what a "pun" was. We were strolling down the street trying very hard to come up with examples that would translate well enough to get the idea across, when we passed a tavern called "Wunder Bar".

It became our example, and then they understood perfectly.

Well, I lose. I tried my own coinage: "Crappy New Jersey™". Turns out that Google's #1 for that phrase is a Legends Magazine article that doesn't use the "TM" character. Then come exact matches at 2, 3, 7, 9, and 10 - all mine, but in comments I've left on other sites. I'm not working hard enough.

No surprise about which phrase Slugger turns up first for..

Posted by: peteb at July 8, 2005 03:48 PM

Although there's some familiar competition for another phrase.. hmmm..

We rock as well on the retail side.

I’m number 1 for "naughty naughty nanny" which probably rather confuses people who click through. I was talking about the welfare state.

Hmm, listened to "Fat Bottomed Girls" a few too many times, Tim?
