It's good to know that our supreme deliberative bodies are sagely spending their time on the pressing issues of the age.

Asshats.

Every

Last

One of them.

What's the big deal? Defend the flag, but screw the country! How dare we question their patriotism!

We support our baby killing goosestepping gulag guarding troops!

Retarded waste of time. Better solution: simply repeal all laws against beating the crap out of anybody I choose.

Makes me fucking furious. Even if this were a good idea--which it is absolutely the opposite of--this would still be the last thing in the world Congress should be wasting its time on.

To make the flag the subject of an exception to the First Amendment reduces the very ideals that it represents. This idiotic amendment, if passed, would actually cause a huge wave of flag-burning across the country, the very same currently non-existent problem that it's supposed to eliminate. I know because I'd be a part of it.

It got me wondering. I can't remember the last time I saw AMERICANS burning the flag IN the U.S. I'm thinking Seattle, during the riots...schmaybe? And who's to know if those were citizens, considering the streets were awash with protestors from every corner of the earth.
