sigh...

Welcome to my world...
UPDATE:...and EYE. For what we failed to receive, we are truly thankful. For those of you rumbling in the feeder bands, keep your heads down and know our prayers are with you. I am tickled to death that my one and only attempt at Hurricane blogging has thus far been a bust and I can well do without any further practice. All in all, a delightful outcome by any measure.

Looks kinda like my front yard did yesterday... (SW FL). We got a bit too much rain...

Best of luck, sister.

How's the gin supply holding up?

Typical Major Dad side of the family adventure this a.m. Up at 4 a.m., on the road at 4:45 headed 50+ miles away, delivering the BIL to his Hoosier friends for transport back to Knightland. And it was pretty exciting. And, tell you what ~ people drive too fast for conditions. What kind of a$$hole runs up on someone's behind with sideways rain and 40 mph gusts. (Wasn't us ~ we were busy running scenarios through our head for when the fellow ahead of him hit the brakes and we had to play Dodge the Neon.) NObody's got to be ANYwhere THAT badly. On the upside, Major Dad saw the hot light on at Krispy Kreme and actually stopped! (The few folks in there are a whole 'nuther post.)

Gin's in good shape, but he's already into that bargain bottle of Knob Creek. Tested it out in the middle of a squall late last night, so it would be ready for today. (You know ~ in case of emergency.)

Jeez Kathy, you guys got HAMMERED all day yesterday! Glub, glub, we are well behind you in the drenched department. Hope you dry out chop-chop.

Back atcha, Rob! Right now it looks like it's hinked over 40 miles or so ~ talking Mobile, so that's worrisome for y'all. But it ain't over 'til it's onshore. (Remember Ivan was going to Biloxi, pffft)

Right you are, Ken. But if we count a 12 month span, it's so THIS year. And I never did get a shot at stud muffin Cantore.

Well, if you grab a towel and a bar of soap when it rains, you can save a few nickels by not using your shower. That's sorta kinda looking on the bright side.
