Mexico's Newest Industry
Thanks to Pravda we learn of Mexico's newest growth industry: facilitating the smuggling everyone who wants to into the US. Not a bad deal, really. The mexicans collect fees as the folks enter, a few helpful bribes along the way to get them to the border, and from those who get caught and sent back even more fees and bribes. A great business.
I want a big wall on our southern border. A very big wall.

Victor Davis Hanson has written about the illegal Mexican immigration problem. He points out that if Americans are serious about stemming this major cultural and security risk, they have to start cutting their own grass, looking after their own kids, and paying more in the grocery store for produce. A number of industries in the US are now hooked on cheap illegal labor. It's like the illegal drug problem: where there's demand, there's supply. I don't blame illegals for wanting a better life, but we have to start punishing employers for hiring them, and we should not provide government benefits for illegals. We have to put our money where our mouth is. I oppose a guest worker program because it enshrines a second-rate limbo status for Mexican workers and debases the ideal of American citizenship.
