Oh Puh-Lease
So we find out that the reason that despicable toad Lynndie England did what she did is becaues she was "oxygen deprived at birth"? Give me a god damned break already. The Toadette herself said the truth the other day:
"I had a choice, but I chose to do what my friends wanted me to," she said.
And that is probably the one and only honest statement that will be heard from her defense team.
*Update: So now the Judge is telling her she doesn't know what she's talking about?
"There is evidence being presented that you are not guilty," Pohl told England.
WTF?

A military judge Wednesday threw out Pfc. Lynndie England’s guilty plea to prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib, saying that he was not convinced that she knew that her actions were wrong at the time.
She admitted guilt, said she knew it was wrong what she did. End of story. Somebody else trying to protect her is irrelevent.
Especially if that 'somebody' is another scumbag who shagged this beast. That thought makes me ill.

And the Army took her anyway. (I know JeffS will forgive me ~ cookie deliveries carry alot of weight...) One look at that loser general in charge of the whole she-bang and you know exactly how it happened.
The best line I heard was delivered by a fellow soldier when the networks were out trolling the ranks for more dirt. "Oh yeah. The six idiots that lost the war." Rock on.

Lame-O. The big issue is of course the impact on morale and the support for the troops back home. There's another big issue coming into play, though, and that's the general mad rush (and yes, it is madness, not just a turn of phrase) to make all moral defects some other sort of defect. I'll think about it and get back to work on my own blog.

No problem, THS. I've had to deal with the rather liberal recruiting policies of the Army and Army National Guard before. We have far more good troops than idiots, but sometimes the idiots clump together, and no one breaks them up before they cause problems.

The problem with journalists reporting on legal issues is that they rarely make it clear WTF exactly is going on, and why. I'm going to do a little research into what the possible justification for this under the UCMJ might be, and see if it makes any sense. I'll report back anything that I think might clear things up.
