I suggest they erect a giant Star of David in its place and see what happens. I suspect a number of the defenders of the present monument would abrubtly switch sides. Or perhaps learn something.

I disagree, Kathy. Some of the most strident supporters of Israel are conservative Christians (my, how times have changed).
In the PoMo world, crosses and Stars of David are verboten, while the Crescent must be preserved lest we offend foreign cultures.
