It's not bad. Interestingly enough, it was originally distilled for the village of Oldbury-on-Severn in Gloucestershire.

it's realy quite good. it's my current 'every day' scotch, having replaced Highland Park, which I'm having a devil of a time finding of late.

Yum. Highland Park. Most northerly Scotch whisky distillery in the world. Absolutely excellent. The 18 y.o. is a thing of joy and beauty. I especially like the very wide mouth on the bottle which allows an emergency dram to be poured in record time.

I mainly drink Islay malts. I especially recommend this stuff: Caol Ila.

I'm a "friend of Laphroaig", myself.

Well, well, well. Bingley, if I didn't know any better, I'd say this was a thinly veiled attempt to get me to post a comment here. LOL!

Seriously, have you tried that stuff? :o

tried it? i like it quite alot, and have consumed several bottles. in fact, you'll see the bottle pictured here behind my wife's hand in the 'cheers' photo on the top of the main page.

and for good scotch it's reasonably priced - about $30, iirc.

but i freely admit that it was the name that got me to try it! :D

Well then I'm going to have to pick up a bottle of the stuff. I'm not much of a scotch drinker (in fact, I don't drink much of anything anymore)....really I'm more of the straight bourbon type.
